- Attend practice with the Kansas City Tribe, a
semi-professional women's tackle football team. The Tribe has its final
home game July 11 at Center High School. If they win, they'll compete for the national
championship in Austin, TX.
- Area farmers react to the new documentary, Food, Inc.
about the dangers of modern food production.
- Visit Troostwood Gardens, a street-corner plot on the
Paseo, where young people are learning about agriculture, the environment and
healthy eating.
- Photographer Louis Copt and sculptor Jim Brothers talk
about their 40-year artistic friendship. Their show From the '60s to
Sixty Something runs through July 17 at the Lawrence Arts Center.
- Plus, New York Times reporter Dana Canedy talks about
her memoir A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor. Canedy's
fiance, Army Sergeant Charles King died in Iraq in 2005, but he left behind a
journal with his advice for his infant son. (This interview originally aired
