Artist Adrienne Walker Hoard, Film: Disturbing The Peace

There's a controversial film coming to the Kauffman Center Feb. 7. One of the filmmakers of "Disturbing the Peace" joins us to discuss the tale of enemy combatants in the Middle East putting an end to their fight and joining together.

Plus, the director of UMKC's Black Studies program has art on display at the Miller Nichols Library.

Guests:

  • Adrienne Walker Hoard, artist, director, UMKC Black Studies
  • Marcina Hale, filmmaker, "Disturbing the Peace"
People don't make cameos in news stories; the human story is the story, with characters affected by news events, not defined by them. As a columnist and podcaster, I want to acknowledge what it feels like to live through this time in Kansas City, one vantage point at a time. Together, these weekly vignettes form a collage of daily life in Kansas City as it changes in some ways, and stubbornly resists change in others.
