Looking To The Future At UMKC

Leading a large university is no cakewalk, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City is no exception.

On Tuesday's Up to Date, UMKC Chancellor Leo Morton joins Steve Kraske to talk about how his childhood in segregated Alabama during the Civil Rights movement shaped him at a person.

We'll also take a look at changes happening at UMKC, such as the downtown arts campus, the increase in resident population and the new student union.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers. Reach me at steve@kcur.org or on Twitter @stevekraske.
