Selfie Surgeries

Health professionals have seen a rise in requests for cosmetic procedures because patients don't like how they look in selfies. On this edition of Up to Date, Steve Kraske discusses the reasons and implications of these procedures.

  • Dr. Jennifer Lundgren is an associate professor of psychology from UMKC who specializes in body image issues.
  • Dr. David Kriet is a surgeon whose clinical focus involves facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Kansas. He is also a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
  • Dr. Edward Farrior specializes in facial plastic surgery and is the past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
