Johnson County Opens Two Green Buildings

Johnson County, Kan. officials broke ground on an environmentally friendly $11.5 million public works complex in west Olathe. The new buildings replace an aging facility in use since 1966.  The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is expected to recognize the project with aLEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification.  Find out more about the buildings here.

Kansas City Police Take Aim At Texting While Driving

Kansas City police are trying to get the word out about the dangers of texting while driving.  According to police Major Richard Lockhart, about half of the 27 persons who have died in Kansas City traffic accident this year were under 25, but he told a city council committee on Wednesday that the number of fatalities that involved texting is uncertain.  Read more here.

The Missouri Gaming Chair Steps Down
