Troost Corridor Revitalization Effort Kicks Off

The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce has targeted the job as one of its top five goals.  The first area of work has just been identified.  The area to be addressed will be between 23rd and 51st Streets, Troost to Highway 71. Find out more here.

Missouri Supreme Court Hears House Redistricting Suit

The Missouri Supreme Court heard arguments Monday in a lawsuit challenging the new State House redistricting map.   The map’s opponents raised similar objections as those who’ve challenged the congressionaland State Senate district mapsdrawn up last year: Like the Senate map, plaintiffs claimed, in written statements, that the six-judge panel that drew up the House map did so behind closed doors and thus violated the state’s Sunshine law.  Read more here.

Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant Remains Offline

Some Lawmakers Criticize Brownback's Involvement In Redistricting

Kansas lawmakers will continue to work on redistricting.  Some legislators are criticizing Governor Sam Brownback’s involvement in the process. Brownback’s chief of staff testified before a Senate committee, saying Leavenworth County should be put entirely in one state Senate district.  Listen to the story here.
