Looking for cools ways to spend a hot weekend? Brian McTavish has some options for you on the Weekend To-Do List.

Lawrence Busker Fest(Variety of street musicians and other performers), Busker Ball preview show at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Granada Theater, 1020 Massachusetts, 5 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. Sunday on the streets of downtown Lawrence, Kan. Admission: Free (Busker Ball $8 adults; $5 kids) 

KC Dance Day (All-ages dance classes and performances, including open rehearsal by Kansas City Ballet), 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Todd Bolender Center, 500 W. Pershing. Admission: Free 

BaconFest (Mass bacon consumption to benefit Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City), 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Rehabilitation Institute, 3010 Main, parking lot and green space. Tickets: $50; $100 VIP (VIPs get in at 1 p.m.)  

Robert Cray (Blues), 8 p.m. Friday at the Voodoo Lounge at Harrah’s Casino, One Riverboat Drive, North Kansas City. Tickets: $30 to $60.50 

2013 Paris of the Plains Bartending Competition(Cocktail-making contest with food from KC restaurants and live music spread through theater), 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the Uptown Theatre, 3700 Broadway. Tickets: $20
