Kansas City Fringe Festival, Variety of live theater shows include: “Clockwork Coquette,” 6:30 and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Crown Center’s Off-Center Theatre, 2450 Grand; “Stairway to Kevin,” 6:30 and 8 p.m. Thursday, Unicorn Theatre, 3828 Main; “The Traveling Tap Dance Super Show,” 8 p.m. Saturday, Just Off Broadway, 3051 Penn Valley Drive. Kansas City Midwest Kids Fest (Fun and activities for kids and parents), 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Overland Park International Trade Center, 6800 W. 115th St. Admission: $5 cash only 

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” (Broadway musical based on Disney movie), 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Starlight Theater in Swope Park. Tickets: Start at $14
