Up to Date is KCUR public radio’s award-winning one-hour daily public affairs / talk show featuring newsmakers of the Kansas City community. Host Steve Kraske, a political correspondent
for The Kansas City Star brings
pressing issues, both local and national, to the table including politics,
economics, entertainment and social points of view - topics that have an impact
on the lives of the Greater Kansas City region.
Up to Date internship
description:
Interns for
Up to Date will work on the day to
day production of the program alongside with the program’s producer and host.
Duties
include but are not limited to:
- develop ideas and topics for
broadcast
- identify guest for shows
- pre-interview/screen guests
- research topics
- write background
material/questions for host
- write promotional/summary
material for producer
- populate web page
- respond to show email
- on-line produce: screen calls
and direct show
- write / produce written and
recorded promos
- research, write, edit, and
record news stories
- record and mix billboards and
other pre-recorded elements
- other duties as assigned

KCUR internships are unpaid – but all the coffee, tea, water, and KCUR goodies
