KCK Teen Performs at Grammys

Kansas City Kansas teenager Alexander Bailey will perform at the Grammy Awards pre- and post-parties with 28 other top high school musicians from around the country in the Gibson/ Baldwin Grammy Jazz Band. By Sylvia Maria Gross

Kansas City, MO – Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Paul McCartney and Gorillaz, they?re all up for awards at next week?s Grammys. But one Kansas City Kansas teenager has already won: he?s in Los Angeles right now, performing with 28 other top high school musicians from around the country in the Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Jazz Band.

Alexander Bailey is a senior at Sumner Academy of Arts and Science. The school?s Jazz Band Director Don Rogers says Bailey is one of the most gifted musicians he?s taught.
