KC CURRENTS 10-29-06

By Sylvia Maria Gross and Alex Smith

Kansas City, MO – A short show this week: Missouri Senator Jim Talent campaigned in Kansas City this week, specifically reaching out to black voters in the metro area. Across the state, St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Sylvester Brown Jr. wrote in September that McCaskill, and the Democratic party in general, have not done much to engage African American communities. Soon after the column came out, McCaskill's campaign approached him for a meeting.

This week's show also included Phyllis Fletcher's personal narrative about her father, Sweet Phil from Sugar Hill. Because of our licensing contract, it is not available in the podcast, but check out that link for more information and to hear it again.
