Blue Activists in Red States

By Laura Ziegler

Kansas Ctiy – The role of grass roots organizing has emerged as a lively force locally in this years election cycle. Their efforts come on the heels of the church - based religious movement and the success of the internet in electoral politics. These groups have been particularly aggressive in traditionally Republican areas recruiting members and raising awareness in a variety of ways, but there are still questions about weather they can make a difference.
