StoryCorps in KC: George Sakoulas and Kristy Nerstheimer

By edited by Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – At StoryCorps recording booths across the country, friends and loved ones interview each other about their lives. Each Wednesday during Morning Edition since September, we've brought you a story recorded at the MobileBooth in Kansas City. Today will be final story in our local series. Kristy Nerstheimer brought her father George Sakoulas whose parents emigrated from Greece and settled in Kansas City. Here George shares some experiences during the Depression.

KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.

Our reporting will always be free for you to read. But it's not free to produce.
