In front of an overflowing crowd at Liberty Memorial, new County Executive Mike Sanders and nine Jackson County legislators were sworn in by the county clerk. Sanders takes the reigns after serving four years as the county's prosecutor. He says in November's election voters were seeking change.
Last fall a clear message was sent though our county, not just throughout our state, but throughout our entire nation. We must change how our government does business. We're going to usher in that change, because it is the right thing to do and you the public should expect nothing less of us.
Sanders agenda calls for establishing a code of ethics for county employees, balancing the budget, and creating a task force to examine the tax appraisal process.
