Kansas City, MO – It's a first Friday in the Crossroads Arts District when galleries host openings, and restaurants and other businesses stay open late. Tonight, a new space on the Westside, la Esquina, opens to the public...and the 20 year old gallery Society for Contemporary Photography will close, as KCUR's Laura Spencer reports.

LA ESQUINA: Whoop Dee Doo. Grand opening party with multimedia installation/performance by Jaimie Warren, Jori Sackin, Chloe Schempf, and Matt Roche. 7-10 p.m. Feb. 2.

KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
