Kansas City, MO – Democratic Congressman Dennis Moore and Republican Jerry Moran held a news conference Monday at the Olathe Board of Education Building to talk about No Child Left Behind. The two want to start a bipartisan move to reform the program, which has drawn the criticism of educators. Moore says he had introduced a bill to allow school districts to opt out. And Moran is introducing a bill that changes the requirements that districts must bring special needs students and those new to the English language up to testing par with others within one year. Both Congressman say that time frame is unreasonable.
