KC Girlfriends Book Club

By Ty Chandler

Kansas City, MO – There are dozens of book clubs around the Kansas City area catering to various interests. Even if that doesn't peak yours, it does seem that adults have a little more trouble making friends then we did as children. KCUR's Ty Chandler visits the KC Girlfriends Bookclub, a group started by women new to Kansas City.

Ty also speaks to Deborah Smith, a sociologist and Director of the Family Studies Program at UMKC, about why she thinks friendships are just as important, if not more important, than love relationships.
