Documentary on Tribal Burial Grounds on Missouri River

A new film examines the struggle between Tribal Nations and the US Army Corps of Engineers in the development of the Missouri River since 1927.By Sylvia Maria Gross

Kansas City, MO – Mni Sose is a documentary-in-progress by local filmmaker Carol Burns and her production company Ironwood Films. The title is a Lakota term that describes the river. It's loosely translated as, "It needs to flow at its strength like it's supposed to. So it is trying - whirlwind = carrying all kinds of debris. Burns spoke to KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross about the process of making the film.
