Kansas City, MO – Brian Wimes has spent the last 6 years on the 10th floor of the Jackson County Courthouse, helping first time drug offenders stay clean, as the Drug Court Commissioner. But now he's moving down two floors to an even bigger bench. He'll be the Judge who will lead Division 18 in the 16th Circuit Court. KCUR's Ty Chandler stopped by his chambers recently.

Judge Wimes replaces Judge Jon Gray, who retired after more than 20 years on the bench.
