Kansas City, MO – Missouri Governor Matt Blunt announced a new initiative to combat illegal immigration this week. He said there's been an unnatural influx of immigrants in Missouri, and mobilized state law enforcement agents to verify the immigration status of anyone they arrest. Blunt also called for the Department of Economic Development to ensure that state-supported contractors do not hire any undocumented workers. KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross reports.
