November 5, 2007 – John Churchman, one of two members of the Olathe school board who voted Thursday to remove John Steinbeck's OF MICE AND MEN from the 9th grade reading list, says the issue is not about banning. He says he doesn't anticipate more conflict over the curriculum but wants parents to be able to continue to voice their opinions when they object to material that goes against their morals and values.
