Kansas City, MO – The American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas and Western Missouri recently hired a new executive director. Dan Winter was a banker for nearly 20 years, but he's been involved in civil liberty issues throughout his life. Winter says that throughout the country, the ACLU has been focusing on privacy rights. He told KCUR's Elana Gordon about some of the organization's other local priorities, which can sometimes seem contradictory.
