Bids Open for Missouri Riverfront Trail

By Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – Work begins soon on an essential link for an interconnected trail network throughout the Northland. The Missouri Riverfront Trail will span 11 miles along the Missouri River from Parkville to Riverside. Brian Nowotny is the director of Platte County Parks and Recreation and says he's opening bids in January for construction of the first phase.

Brian Nowotny: "A 3 mile segment that will begin in Riverside and traverse the newly completed Riverside Levy...the project will also go along the west...future segments into popular English Landing Park."

Nowotny says the Missouri Riverfront Trail will accommodate cyclists and pedestrians. It's expected to be completed later this year.
