- Jury selection got underway today in the second murder trial of John Henry Horton. Horton is accused of killing 13-year-old Lizabeth Wilson of Prairie Village in 1974.
- The subject of collective bargaining for state employees is before the Missouri Legislature again. Gov. Blunt opposes the idea, arguing that taxpayers should say how much state employees are paid without union intervention.
- The Kansas House passed a bill that says only persons over the age of 40 can file age discrimination complaints.
