KANSAS CITY, MO –
When a soldier or Marine dies in the line of duty, local media outlets scramble to prepare obituaries looking at their lives and sacrifice. But when U.S. troops are paralyzed in Iraq or Afghanistan, their loss, and the hardships placed on their families, usually escape public view. Body of War follows a Kansas City man whose life was turned upside down after an AK-47 round ripped through his spine in Iraq. KCUR's Frank Morris reports.
