State Education Board Member Advises KCMO District

By Steve Bell

Kansas City, MO – A member of the Missouri state board of education held a news conference last week to dispel rumors that the state was looking to take over Kansas City Missouri's school district. The state took over the St. Louis school board in 2006, and the recent ouster of Kansas City's superintendent has led some to believe it might happen here. But State Board member and Reverend Stan Archie, of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church, told KCUR's Steve Bell that the laws surrounding the St. Louis takeover don't apply here.
