Kansas City, MO – Vasquez Boyd says this poem called "Adios, Barbie" was inspired by a conversation with her college-aged daughter who told her about a lecture she attended about Barbie and the changing perceptions of women.

This poem is published in the anthology called Primera P?gina: Poetry from the Latino Heartland.
