Kansas City, MO –

  • A poll of a thousand people, inside and outside Kansas City, in Missouri-side counties professes to prove most favor a half cent sales tax for tri-county transit. Mayor Funkhouser says members of Congress like the concept enough to pledge support for matching funds.
  • Attorneys for Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline filed a brief outlining their defense in a civil case against Kline before the Kansas Supreme Court. Planned Parenthood has sued to get Kline to return medical records he subpoenaed during an investigation he undertook when he was Kansas Attorney General.

  • Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.

Your support has always made KCUR's work possible — from reporting that keeps officials accountable, to storytelling to connects our community. Help ensure the future of local journalism.
