Kansas City, MO –

  • At least half of a compliment of area government leaders summoned by Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser to review his mass transit plan have misgivings about the timing. Committees will explore finance, transit hardware and system governance before meeting again June 20th.
  • The arbitration panel on the seven buildings to possibly be transferred from the Kansas City school district to the one in Independence met this morning, but did not make a final decision on how much the buildings are worth.
  • Visitors to the Kansas City zoo this weekend have a unique opportunity. A new baby zebra born at the zoo a week ago went on display today.

  • KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
