KCUR Evening Newscast 6-6-08

Kansas City, MO –

  • As Kansas City leaders ponder getting a regional transit system rolling, a new concern emerges. A starter system paid for by Kansas City would be a losing proposition until a regional plan is underway. Also, city attorneys say it will be difficult if not impossible to create a regional tax that allows Kansas City to pay a lesser share in the expansion of the system.
  • Eric Feltner, Chief of Staff to Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder has resigned following his arrest on pornography charges. Feltner is charged with trying to provide pornographic materials to a minor. Police say Feltner believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl, who was in fact an undercover officer.

  • Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
