Kansas City, MO –

An arbitration board has ruled, and the transfer of school buildings from the Kansas City district to the one in Independence will cost Independence about $12.8 million plus anything it wants to pay for desks, equipment and supplies.

In a unanimous ruling Friday, the Kansas Supreme Court upheld the state's new casino gaming law as constitutional.

Executions resume in Missouri with the date set for John C. Middleton, convicted of killing two people near the Iowa border in 2005.
