Kansas City, MO –

The Kansas City, Missouri City Council has overridden Mayor Mark Funkhouser's veto of an ordinance that effectively bans Funhouser's wife from officing at City Hall.

The council also passed economic incentives for redevelopment in the Antioch Shopping Center and Citadel areas.

The Area Transit Authority presented testimony today on how light rail systems have succeeded and rejuvenated downtown areas in Portland and Charlotte.

Missouri Governor Matt Blunt says he opposes the plan to bail out Wall Street, and isn't sure it will be effective.
