Kansas City, MO – Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is winning praise as President Barack Obama's choice for secretary of Health and Human Services.

Missouri health officials report it's been an unusually mild year for the flu.

Kansas City Missouri has privatized its animal shelter in a move that planners say will save $175,000 a year, as well as the lives of thousands of dogs and cats.

Missouri officials say they can't pinpoint a reason for a dramatic increase in the number of abused and neglected dogs rescued in the state this year.

Yesterday's showdown between the Kansas Jayhawks and Missouri Tigers was nearly over before it started, as the 15th-ranked Jayhawks took an early 21-5 lead on their way to a 90-65 blow out of the number-eleven Tigers.
