Kansas City, MO – The Kansas City council effectively fired City Manager Wayne Cauthen yesterday. It happened by the narrowest of margins, in a bitter council session.

The city manager vote widened the gap between city council faction yesterday, but the mayor and council also took one of their strongest united stands.

A Kansas audit shows the National Teachers hall of fame lost $250,000 dollars over three years.

The board that oversees Missouri's State Employees Retirement System, or MOSERS, is crafting a proposal to end bonuses when the pension fund loses money.
