Kansas City, MO – The first court appearance is scheduled for this morning for a former Columbia city official suspected of killing his wife and two children on Saturday.

Higher education officials say budget cuts in Kansas have forced universities to eliminate 450 academic courses or programs and cut nearly 800 jobs.
