Kansas City, MO – A strong winter storm that's working its way east across Kansas is expected to pick up steam later today with rain turning to snow.

Presents and holiday meals can mean lots of holiday trash. Some estimates say trash increases by 25 percent between Thanksgiving and New Year's.

Elderly Missourians, particularly in the St. Louis area, have been getting phone calls from scam artists posing as their grandchildren.

Mark Twain National Forest officials are seeking proposals to restore, preserve and recycle buildings on five historically important sites.
