Kansas City, MO – The Department of Homeland Security is hoping today's report on the safety of the National Bio and Agro defense Facility will allow them to make plans to begin construction in Manhattan.

An organization in Douglas County is working to bolster the local food movement. The Douglas County Food Policy Council was created last year by the County Commission, to advise the county on ways to promote local food systems.

A summit to help police officers and prosecutors combat intoxicated driving was held last week in several cities across Missouri, Texas and New Mexico.

Missouri's Department of Conservation says the state's firearms deer hunting season got off to a big start over the weekend.
