KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Officials at the Wolf Creek nuclear power plant in Burlington, KS are closely watching developments in Japan to see if there are any lessons to be learned from the nuclear disasters occurring there.

A Kansas House committee has voted against a measure that would clamp down on illegal immigration in the state.

Metals like aluminum and copper can be attractive items for thieves. A Kansas Senate committee is considering new regulations aimed at combating metal thefts.

The Missouri Senate has set aside a bill that would prohibit closed-union shops in which all of a company's employees must pay union fees.
