KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City officials cut the ribbon yesterday on a new housing development that's exclusively for seniors, raising their grandchildren. It's one of only a handful of similar communities around the country.

Missouri insurance officials have postponed a vote to draw down $13 million from Washington that would be used to help set up a health insurance exchange.

More Missouri residents are defaulting on their student loans. The state says the default rate in 2009 was 7.6 percent, up from nearly 6 percent in 2008.

The start of a curbside recycling program in Shawnee County could be delayed.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is getting a $32 million gift from Henry Bloch, the retired co-founder of tax preparer H&R Block.
