Kansas City District Establishes Transfer Policy

Kansas City Public Schools will lose accreditation January 1.  The district has set up a new policy allowing for students to transfer to accredited districts.  Missouri law currently requires that unaccredited districts pay tuition and transportation for those who choose to transfer to adjacent, accredited districts. It also requires that those districts accept the transfers.   Read more about the policy here.

Head of Kansas Social Services Steps Down

Rob Siedlecki, the Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services Secretary, is stepping down December 31, Governor Sam Brownback announced Thursday. Siedlecki's time in office, which began in January 2011, was marked by controversy.  Find out more here.
