KC School Board Presents Accreditation Plan
President of the Kansas City school board and interim superintendent Steve Green went to the city council Neighborhoods Committee Wednesday with a plan for restoring accreditation to the Kansas City district. School board president Airick Leonard West told a council committee that the focus is on consistency, supporting good teachers and motivating students through their interests. Find out more here.
Council Committee Votes Against Ballot Measure
After a contentious hearing today, a Kansas City Council Committee is recommending against full council approval of a measure to block city involvement in companies that make nuclear weapons parts. Rally At Missouri Capitol Opposes Limbaugh’s Hall Of Fame Status
Around a hundred demonstrators rallied outside the State Capitol today to protest plans to induct conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh into theHall of Famous Missourians. Limbaugh has come under fire for calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute" on his nationally-syndicated radio program. Fluke had testified in favor of President Obama’s birth control policies before Congressional Democrats. Learn more here.
