Kansas City, Missouri’s City Hall Turns 75
The building was one of the projects created during a Depression-era public works program called The Ten-Year Plan - the brainchild of political boss Tom Pendergast, City Manager Henry McElroy and then-Judge Harry Truman. Two Kansas City Group Get Grammy Nominations
The 2013 Grammy nominations are out - and two nominees have ties to Kansas City. The Kansas City Chorale was nominated for Best Choral Performance for "Life & Breath - Choral Works By Rene Clausen. Mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato was nominated in the Best Classical Vocal Solo category for "Homecoming - Kansas City Symphony Presents Joyce DiDonato." The program was part of a PBS Arts Summer Festival and a collaboration between PBS and KCPT. Learn more about the performances here.
