Kansas City boasts its fair share of talented musicians. And when they turn to making music for the holidays, the results can vary from hilarious to thought-provoking.

Kansas City, MO – Making Movies' Enrique Chi talks aboutTormenta, a song that wasn't really intended as a Christmas song, but rather a political rallying cry.

And the Phantom (aka Kemet Coleman) explains why he created a whole Christmas-themed hip hop album, The Night the Phantom Stole Christmas.

Plus, excerpts from I'm on a Sleigh by the Mikey Needleman Band (a parody of that popular Saturday Night Live skit), Still, Still, Still by David Bennett, and Merry Christmas to Me by Heather Thornton.

KCUR serves the Kansas City region with breaking news and powerful storytelling.
