Poets Stanley and Janet Banks at KC Fringe Festival

Kansas City, MO – The second annual KC Fringe Festival kicks off on Thursday. It?s four days of live theatre, dance, performance art, visual art, spoken word, storytelling, puppetry, film and fashion. In the Crossroads Arts District and Downtown, artists from around the country take the stage alongside local talent, including Kansas City poets Stanley Banks and Janet Banks. They talked to arts reporter Laura Spencer about their upcoming performance; it?s an hour of poetry covering the themes of love, politics, attitudes, relationships, and the African-American experience.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
