Topeka, KS – The governor's administration has laid off all five employees of the Kansas Arts Commission. In a letter issued Tuesday, May 10, Secretary of Administration Dennis Taylor informed the employees that they would be let go in 30 days. As KPR Statehouse reporter Stephen Koranda tells us, the Arts Commission's future has been uncertain, since a proposal to eliminate the agency earlier this year.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.

Your support has always made KCUR's work possible — from reporting that keeps officials accountable, to storytelling to connects our community. Help ensure the future of local journalism.
