Lower Costs And Don't Rush: Kan. Rep. Dennis Moore On Health Legislation

http://stream.publicbroadcasting.net/production/mp3/kcur/local-kcur-852895.mp3

Kansas City, MO – U.S. House speaker Nancy Pelosi has vowed to reach an agreement on a health care bill soon. But that may depend on the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of conservative Democrats seen as swing votes on health care legislation.

Dennis Moore, who represents most of the Kansas side of the metropolitan area, is a long time member of the Blue Dog group. KCUR's Elana Gordon spoke recently with Moore, who says he'd like to see health care legislation passed, but not in a hurry, and not if it's going to place what he considers to be an undue burden on tax payers.

Funding for health care coverage on KCUR has been provided by the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.
