Kansas Flu Cases More Than Double from Last Year; Down from Two Weeks Ago

By KCUR/AP

Kansas City, MO – Kansas health officials say the state is seeing more than twice as many reports of people with flu like symptoms than is normal at this time of year.

The state's epidemiologist says out-patient clinics usually see 2% of patients with flu-like symptoms.

But last week, almost 6% of the patients at the clinics reported flu-like symptoms.

The numbers are down from two weeks ago but still high for this time of year.
