This week on 12th Street Jump we celebrate the birthday of Bill Evans with our special guest Michael Pagan.
Bill Evans
William John Evans, known as Bill Evans (/ˈɛvəns/, August 16, 1929 – September 15, 1980), was an American jazz pianist and composer who mostly worked in a trio setting. Evans's use of impressionist harmony, inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, "singing" melodic lines influenced a generation of pianists; he was considered by some to be the most influential post-World War II jazz pianist.[2] Unlike many other jazz musicians of his time, Evans never embraced new movements like jazz fusion or free jazz.-Wikipedia

Recently described as a "dynamic artist and musical force in today's jazz world" by allaboutjazz.com and a "brilliant, intense" performer of jazz piano by KC Confidential, Michael Pagán has performed for over 30 years throughout the United States and in Europe with many jazz greats.

On the funny side of things, we play “So, Whats Your Question?” to learn a bit more about Bill Evans and later sympathize with that flight attendant gone wild on an original parody called “Friggin’ Jet Blues”.
