Coolness Secrets Revealed

Cody Critcheloe

On this Tuesday's Central Standard, we’ll meet the researcher who conducted the empirical investigation of what it means to be cool, and found there’s a lot more to it than just likability or popularity. Think James Dean. Think the Fonz.

Then, later in the hour, we ask the coolest person we've ever met to offer up some insight. Cody Critcheloe is the frontman of the band SSION (pronounced "shun") and has a stage presence that you can only describe as cool. His style isthe most original thing you've ever seen.

GUESTS:
Ilan Dar-nimrod, Researcher at the University of Rochester
Cody Critcheloe, SSION

TELL US:
Who represents your definition of cool? How has it changed over the years? Tell us at 816-235-2888, or e-mail centralstandard@kcur.org.

GET YOUR KIDS INVOLVED, TOO:
Parents, we need a favor: can you pull your kids off their video games and get them on the phone for a bit? We want to know what’s cool in middle and high schools these days. Swatch watches? Bieber? We’re so out of the loop. Tell them all the cool kids are calling 816-235-2888, or e-mail centralstandard@kcur.org.
