Kansas City Play Explores Millennial Revolution, And Building A Better Block

Better Block Foundation
Pedestrian lanes, like the ones shown here in a 2012 project on Grand Boulevard, are part of Better Block's mission to demonstrate the benefits of urban design through temporary displays people can see and touch.

The push for safe spaces and trigger warnings is leading many educators to more carefully curate their syllabi. The issue inspired creativity in a Kansas City playwright and the two local actors performing in his new project.

Then, we discuss a fresh activist approach to better urban planning. Find out how Better Block KC inspires city improvement through examples people can experience first-hand.

'Trigger Happy' runs Wednesdays through Sundays from March 30 to April 16 at the Living Room Theatre. For ticketing information, visit TheLivingRoomKC.com.

As part of Kansas City Design Week, Jason Roberts will present 'Creating a Better Block' at the Kansas City Library Plaza Branch at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 6. To purchase tickets, go to KCDesignWeek.org.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
